摘要: Herbicide hormesis is commonly observed at subtoxic doses of herbicides and other phytotoxins. The occurrence magnitude this phenomenon are influenced by plant growth stage physiological status, environmental factors, the endpoint measured timing between treatment measurement. mechanism in some cases herbicide appears to be related target site herbicide, whereas examples may overcompensation moderate stress induced or a response disturbed homeostasis. Theoretically, could used crop production, but has been practical only case use as sugar cane ‘ripeners’ enhance sucrose accumulation. many factors that can influence occurrence, dose range hormetic increases yield for most crops make it too unpredictable risky production practice with currently available knowledge. cause undesired effects situations which weeds unintentionally exposed (e.g. adjacent fields, when shielded vegetation). Some have evolved resistance responses recommended application rates. Little known about such under field conditions. A more complete understanding needed exploit its potential benefits minimize harmful production. © 2014 Society Chemical Industry
