摘要: Within the context of American academy, work twentieth-century professor was fairly well defined, being divided into two clear categories research, or exploring new ideas in a particular discipline expertise, and teaching, passing on that expertise to next generation scholars practitioners. While weight given each these when considering tenure promotion has varied among within institutions, teaching typically been considered subordinate research hiring, tenure, decisions are made, even at “teaching” colleges.
