摘要: Abstract After an historical review of several approaches to predict the spatial and energy distributions ions confined in a Paul trap subjected collisions with neutrals, paper focuses on temporal invariance method. Two improvements this method are studied. The first one is used probe shape equilibrium distribution around given value dynamic state ion. second enhancement compute solution by Monte Carlo technique: large increase performances variance reduction achieved for light buffer gases (He Ne) using control model tested device. application computation Cs + He, Ne Ar shows that not Gaussian, even lightest gas atom, magnitude tail dramatically increases collisional atom mass. In addition, possibility extend studies other confinement devices discussed if efficiency obtained means use increased.
