摘要: Objectives. We aimed to ascertain the efficacy of an intervention in which laboratory test costs were provided clinicians as a pocket-sized brochure, reducing over 4-month period. Methods. This was non-randomised study Internal Medicine wards at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, Pretoria, brochure. The period winter months May - August 2008 and pre-intervention same preceding year. In two periods (2007 2008), number days hospital tests ordered computed for each patient admitted. For control groups, pre- post-intervention cost estimated.
