摘要: Myofiber degeneration, inflammation, and fibrosis are remarkable features of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We hypothesized that the administration imatinib mesylate, an inhibitor tyrosine kinase TGF-β pro-fibrogenic activity, could improve conditions in mdx mice. Four-week old mice were treated exercised for 6 weeks. Gastrocnemius diaphragm histopathology, strength, creatine kinase, cytokine levels evaluated. The group presented increased strength decreased CK levels, injured myofibers, inflammatory infiltrates. Pro-inflammatory cytokines also reduced, while IL-10 was increased, suggesting immunomodulatory effect imatinib, which can ameliorate dystrophic phenotype
