摘要: The broad importance of dementia is undisputed, with Alzheimer’s disease justifiably getting the most attention. However, Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s dementia, now called body dementias, are second common type degenerative in patients older than 65 years. Despite this, dementias receive little attention often misdiagnosed, leading to less ideal management. Over past 10 years, considerable effort has gone into improving diagnostic accuracy by refining criteria using imaging other biomarkers. Dementia share same pathophysiology, effective treatments will depend not only on successful treatment symptoms but also targeting pathological mechanisms disease, ideally before clinical signs develop.
