摘要: Many metastable complex fluids such as colloidal glasses and gels show distinct nonlinear viscoelasticity with increasing oscillatory-strain amplitude; the storage modulus decreases monotonically strain amplitude increases whereas loss has a peak before it at larger strains. We present qualitative argument to explain this ubiquitous behavior use mode-coupling theory (MCT) confirm it. compare theoretical predictions measured in dense hard-sphere suspension; reasonable agreement is obtained. The given here can be used obtain new information about linear of from measurements.
