Electron temperature measurement of Ba photoplasma by using an electrostatic probe

摘要: We study experimentally and theoretically the time evolution of electron temperature Te a photoionized barium vapor which expands freely into vacuum. Using gas dynamics fundamental equations assuming plasma expansion to be adiabatic, model is built analytical expressions are derived for ion temperatures, velocity, density evolutions. The experimental apparatus consists essentially vacuum chamber, Joule effect furnace produces Ba vapor. A cylindrical created between two vertical plates produced by two‐step ionization measured with electrostatic probe biased slowly variable voltage ramp. current‐voltage curve step boxcar averager. results involve different parameter variations like or sampling current studying temperature. Finally, it was found that adiabatic cooling agrees well evolution, but limited below 0.025 eV Langmuir accuracy.
