Preparedness and emergency response research centers: using a public health systems approach to improve all-hazards preparedness and response.

摘要: In 2008, at the request of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Institute Medicine (IOM) prepared a report identifying knowledge gaps in public health systems preparedness emergency response recommending near-term priority research areas. accordance with Pandemic All-Hazards Preparedness Act mandating new response, CDC provided competitive awards establishing nine Emergency Response Research (PERRCs) accredited U.S. schools health. The PERRCs conducted four IOM-recommended areas: (1) enhancing usefulness (PHPR) training, (2) creating maintaining sustainable systems, (3) improving PHPR communications, (4) evaluation criteria metrics to improve all hazards. worked closely state local health, community partners, advisory committees produce practice-relevant findings. PERRC has generated more than 130 peer-reviewed publications nearly 80 practice policy tools recommendations potential significantly enhance our nation's hazards that highlight need further improvements systems.
