摘要: Evidence is evaluated for freeboard of continents (relative elevation with respect to sea level) as a function time. Egyed’s interpretation steady continental emergence time, based on changing areas flooding shown global paleogeographic atlases, seems unfounded the grounds inherent biases in original maps, associated time segments between successive and by comparison versus plot North America compiled from Schuchert’s more detailed atlas. Instead, constant model or possibly one long-term equilibria appropriate. The American used basis quantitative estimate distribution deviations freeboard. For over 80% post-Precambrian has remained within ±60 m normal value 20 above present level.
