摘要: In the past 100 years, there has been an explosion of medical knowledge-and in next 50 more knowledge will be available than ever before. Regrettably, current practice unable to keep pace with this knowledge. Specialized confined largely academic centers (i.e., teaching hospitals) and specialists major cities; it disconnected from primary care clinicians on front lines patient care. To bridge disconnect, must demonopolized, a platform for collaborative amongst all needs created. A new model health education delivery called Project ECHO (Extension Community Healthcare Outcomes), developed by first author, does just this. Using videoconferencing technology case-based learning, ECHO's provide training mentoring working rural urban underserved areas so that latter can deliver best evidence-based patients complex conditions their own communities.
