摘要: Foot ulceration results in substantial morbidity amongst diabetic patients. We have studied prospectively the relationship between high foot pressures and using an optical pedobarograph. A series of 86 patients, mean age 53.3 (range 17–77) years, duration diabetes 17.1 1–36) were followed-up for a period 30 15–34) months. Clinical neuropathy was present 58 (67%) patients at baseline examination. Mean peak pressure higher follow-up compared to (13.5 kg·cm−2±7.1 SD vs 11.2±5.4, p 12.3) being 55 43 visit (p=NS). Plantar ulcers developed 21 feet 15 (17%), all whom had abnormally baseline; 14 baseline. Non-plantar occurred 8 (9%) Thus, plantar 35% with but none those normal pressures. shown first time prospective study that are strongly predictive subsequent ulceration, especially presence neuropathy.
