摘要: PURPOSE Elderly patients constitute a special group of surgical candidates due to the frequent coexistence major comorbidities. We report our experience in performing liver resections aged 75 years or older. METHODS During period 62 months, 154 underwent resections, out which 20 were old Our prospectively maintained database was reviewed regarding patient and tumor characteristics, intraoperative postoperative data. RESULTS Out older, 15 men 5 women, with mean age 79.3 years. Sixteen (80%) had at least one comorbidity. Indications for surgery hepatocellular carcinoma (n=5), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (n=7), metastases abscess (n=2) cyst hemorrhage (n=1). Liver included 3 left hepatectomies, 1 lateral hepatectomy combined segmentectomy wedge resection, 2 right central hepatectomy, 4 bisegmentectomies, segmentectomies, unroofings giant cysts. In 10 operations, further procedures apart from resection. Six postoperatively admitted intensive care unit days. Postoperative bile leak documented patient, no reoperation needed. No death recorded during hospitalization patients. The length hospital stay 12.9 CONCLUSIONS even ones, can be tolerated by elderly good outcomes under presupposition careful selection.
