Cocrystal of 1,1-Dicyano-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethene with l-Proline and Induced Conformational Polymorphism of 1,1-Dicyano-2-(4-hydroxy- 3-methoxyphenyl)-ethene

摘要: Crystallization of 1,1-dicyano-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethene (I) and 1,1-dicyano-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-ethene (II) with l-proline (III) l-tartaric acid (IV) was carried out. Compound I formed cocrystals I·III. However, cocrystallization II unsuccessful; instead in the presence III or IV formation two conformational polymorphs IIa IIb observed. In I·III, hydrogen bonded chains proline molecules attached to them were found. Similar synthons found literature other proline-containing crystals, we believe that it is possible use these acentric supramolecular associates crystal engineering nonlinear optical materials. Possible reasons for compound are discussed based on results X-ray analysis, molecular structure energy calculations, thermal behavior II.
