摘要: Body fluids suspected of bacterial infection were cultured and examined for the presence D-lactic acid, a specific metabolite. We 206 patients 264 specimens. D-Lactic acid was found in concentrations greater than or equal to 0.15 mM 11 infected 6 40 noninfected ascitic fluids, 4 33 pleural 0 13 synovial 26 27 2 130 cerebrospinal fluids. The overall sensitivity 79.7%, specificity 99.5% when concentration at least mM. most important clinical utility measurement appears be with various body compartments who have already received antimicrobial therapy. An elevation may indicate even cultures are negative.
