摘要: The cold pressor test (CPT) and Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) have been shown to reliably increase HPA activity; however, little research has compared responses these stressors. In this study, biological (plasma cortisol ACTH levels) subjective (e.g., stress mood) were in 31 subjects administered both the CPT TSST. Subjects diagnosed with alcohol dependence post-traumatic disorder (PTSD) (n = 11), without PTSD 10), use 4), neither nor 6). All completed all groups, TSST elicited higher levels of than CPT, response time course differed between tasks. also produced lower mood ratings CPT. A comparison groups normal controls revealed group differences responding for but not results suggest that a greater CPT; may utility diagnostically heterogeneous patients.
