摘要: Abstract Produced water management is one of the key challenges faced by oil and gas industry globally. Specifically, in Qatar challenged to minimize produced/process (PPW) volumes injected into disposal wells ensure long term sustainability reservoirs. This research evaluated a novel application forward osmosis (FO) reduce PPW disposed deep well injection using brine from thermal desalination plants or seawater as draw solutions. In case brines, this process also provides some environmentally beneficial dilution before discharge. order verify volume reduction concept, bench-scale FO experiments were carried out commercial flat sheet membranes. performance was with without pretreatment results confirm that successful implementation for treatment PPW. Experimental indicate effective achieving 50% pretreated stable flux 12 LMH. Lab analyses show TOC diluted solution below detection limit indicating feed did not appear hence would be discharged environment.
