摘要: Abstract In an integrated series of experiments, we assessed effects translactational exposure to Aroclor 1254 at three different ages: as young adults (2-4.5 months), mature (5-8 and older (8.5-13 months). Developing female rats were exposed postnatally polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) via oral treatment the dams on Days 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 lactation following doses: 8 μg/g (PCBI), 32 (PCBII), 64 (PCBIII) in peanut oil. Normal controls (CI) underfed nutritional (CII) received Puberty, both vaginal opening first estrus, was delayed PCBII PCBIII offspring. PCB all doses had a pronounced consistent effect uterine response. adults, wet weights reduced stages estrous cycle light-induced persistent estrus (PVE). PCBI offspring exhibited decreased weight proestrus PVE. Exogenous estradiol-17β (0.2 μg) given ovariectomized less effective causing uterotrophic response PCB-exposed Analysis cycles for 40 days ages indicated increases diestrus. Fertility affected, with exhibiting success preimplantation stages, showing pre- and/or postimplantation stages. As determined by patterns cycling rate development PVE constant light, PCBs did not hasten reproductive aging any examined. Instead, delay onset This study demonstrates that mixture has little notable dams, only delays puberty offspring, but also several months later results response, impairment fertility, irregular patterns. Reproductive aging, however, is hastened, even may be delayed. Many these could explained, part, interference estrogen.
