摘要: Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) has emerged as a reliable tool for fast identification and classification of microorganisms. In this regard, it represents strong challenge to microscopic molecular biology methods. Nowadays, commercial MALDI systems are accessible biological research work well diagnostic applications in clinical medicine, biotechnology industry. They employed namely bacterial biotyping but numerous experimental strategies have also been developed the analysis fungi, which is topic present review. Members many fungal genera such Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium or Trichoderma various yeasts from samples (e.g. Candida albicans) successfully identified by MALDI-TOF MS. However, there no versatile method fungi currently available even though use only limited number matrix compounds reported. Either intact cell/spore MS chosen an extraction surface proteins performed then resulting extract measured. Biotrophic phytopathogens can be via direct acquisition spectra e.g. infected plant organs contaminated spores. Mass spectrometric peptide/protein profiles display peaks m/z region 1000-20000, where unique set biomarker ions may appear facilitating differentiation at level genus, species strain. This done with help processing software spectral database reference strains, should preferably constructed under same standardized conditions.
