摘要: Administration of purified amino acids to treat neurological disease rests upon the discovery that variations in concentrations circulating blood stream can influence rates neurotransmitter synthesis and release central nervous system. There are three prominent examples which individual precursors for have been used disorders: tyrosine L-dopa Parkinson’s (1, 2) tryptophan L-5-hydroxytryptophan posthypoxic intention myoclonus (3, 4) threonine treatment spasticity (5). In each instance, precursor acid is administered pharmacological doses as a drug; there no evidence any these diseases results from an dietary deficiency. Treatments well known reviewed elsewhere (6); L-threonine administration new forms basis this chapter.
