摘要: Reduction of energy demand and environmental impact chemical processes are challenges that must be faced to realize a sustainable growth. To deal with this objective, shift is required in the industrial catalysis toward novel intensified processes; perspective, membrane reactors (MRs) pointed out as feasible way production. MRs multifunctional combining reaction membrane-based separation. Compared traditional sequential reaction–separation systems, MRs may allow one achieve many advantages: lower requirements, increased productivity, more easy down- upstream processing, reduced by-product formation, possibility heat recovery, compact process equipment, catalyst recycling. MRs today accepted proven technology for biotechnological applications, but there huge potential these systems practically all sectors. However, their large-scale applications still limited by problems related manufacturing cost membranes modules, durability. Key issues addressed near future include development advanced modules acceptable costs, stable wide range solvents conditions, showing high reproducible performance over long times. In work, basic aspects MR presented numerous lab-scale case studies, highlighting advantages limitations integrated particular attention polymeric catalytic membranes.
