摘要: The generation of galactic winds from star-forming galaxies is investigated. It shown that the large supernova rates believed to have occurred during early evolution elliptical result in a chemically inhomogeneous two-phase interstellar medium consisting cool clouds embedded hot low-density matrix occupies most space. energy and heavy-element production supernovae exploding directly can generate metal-enhanced wind. Supernova-driven mass loss found depend critically on rate dwarf and, case giant ellipticals, depth potential well. latter fact suggests possibility transition ellipticals due partial total winds. 46 references.
