摘要: Evaluating the adequacy of created wetlands to replace functions lost natural is important because wetland mitigation a major tool used offset losses. However, measurements such as vegetative cover and presence wildlife may not provide sufficient evidence that are functioning properly thus examining ecology biota amphibians be more useful surrogate for function. The objectives this study were compare occupancy detection calling anurans in relative beaver-created wetlands. Five-, 10-min, broadcast call surveys performed at 24 throughout Central Appalachians once every month from March through August 2009 2010. Occupancy modeling was estimate individual species, incorporating relevant environmental variables. did differ between human-created beaver (Castor canadensis)-created Detection largely unaffected by survey type, but several covariates had significant effect on detectability anurans. Our results suggest function providing adequate chorusing habitat adult being fulfilled we examined.
