Job demand and control interventions: a stakeholder-centered best-evidence synthesis of systematic reviews on workplace disability.

摘要: Background: Physical and psychological job demands in combination with the degree of control a worker has over task completion, play an important role reducing stress. Occupational stress is important, modifiable factor affecting work disability. However, effectiveness or increasing remains unclear, particularly for outcomes interest to employers, such as absenteeism productivity. Objective: This systematic review reports on demand interventions that impact absenteeism, productivity financial outcomes. Methods: A stakeholder-centered best-evidence synthesis was conducted researcher stakeholder collaboration throughout. Databases grey literature were searched reviews between 2000 2012: Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, DARE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, TRIP, health-evidence.ca, Rehab+, National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC), Institute Work Health. Articles assessed independently by two researchers inclusion criteria methodological quality. Differences resolved through consensus. Results: The search resulted 3363 unique titles. After abstracts, 115 articles retained full-text review. 11 finally met are summarized this synthesis. best level evidence we found indicates multimodal reductions either at-work off-work workers will reduce disability-related absenteeism. Conclusion: In general, impacts aim increase can be positive organization terms cost-effectiveness. more high quality research needed further assess relationships quantify effect sizes reviewed study.
