摘要: The vast majority of hot melts are non-reactive, that is, they remain thermoplastic during use. To achieve adequate strength from a non-reactive melt, some component the adhesive must separate out into dispersed hard phase upon cooling. phases commonly either glassy styrene domains (for adhesives based on styrenic block copolymers) or organic crystallites waxes olefinic copolymers ethylene copolymers). This chapter describes chemistry raw materials used in melts, and discusses typical formulations general considerations for each major applications. It also reactive small but rapidly growing class section because these involve unique formulating considerations. presents brief equipment test methods, followed by discussion overall trends melt development. highest volume applications packaging converting markets.
