摘要: Abstract : A preliminary physical and chemical examination of a selected group spider silks was made. The program's ultimate goal the synthesis 'super tenacity' protein fibers, work reported here designed to: confirm existence very strong, natural specifically, silks; determine some properties such fibers; obtain information on make-up strong fibers compare them with weaker fibers. During this study, collection techniques were streamlined large quantities silk obtained. It shown that variety these have average rupture tenacities exceeding 10 gms per denier few show 15 denier. These strengths class among strongest organic fiber known. Equally remarkable, however, are elongations before - amounting to percent or more. Fractionation studies indicate it is almost completely fibrous form little no soluble (globular) components. Amino acid assays contains primarily simpler amino acids has possible relation collagen structure.
