摘要: This paper reports our experiences building PlanetLab over the last four years. It identifies requirements that shaped PlanetLab, explains design decisions resulted from resolving conflicts among these requirements, and experience implementing supporting system. Due in large part to nature of "PlanetLab experiment," discussion focuses on synthesis rather than new techniques, balancing system-wide considerations improving performance along a single dimension, learning feedback live system controlled experiments using synthetic workloads.
