Late quaternary environmental changes in Patagonia as inferred from lacustrine fossil and extant ostracods

摘要: In the present study, we compare modern and Quaternary ostracods from two lacustrine basins: Laguna Cari-Laufquen (41 degrees S) Lago Cardiel (49 in Patagonia. Taxonomic quantitative analyses along with isotopic chemical studies of extant ostracod fauna indicate that distinct associations can be identified as a function conductivity. Three distinguished: (1) springs, ponds small creeks, characterized by low conductivity (e. g. 1015 ms cm(-1)); (2) lakes permanent ponds, medium 1625 cm(-1)) (3) ephemeral environments, generally higher 16 480 These were also older sequences sediments outcropping current shoreline, well sediment cores Cardiel. The predominance Limnocythere rionegroensis Cusminsky & Whatley sections suggests development saline turbid lake during Late Pleistocene Early Holocene, thus precipitation at these latitudes.
