摘要: Chemoorientation in male gametes of Ectocarpus siliculosus response to sexual pheromones is effected by two distinct mechanisms, chemokinesis and chemoklinotaxis. These are characterized a strongly asymmetric bending pattern the anteriorly-directed flagellum transient unilateral hind flagellum, respectively. Removal extracellular Ca2+ showed that normal flagellar movement require millimolar concentrations medium. The inhibited La3+, whereas Ca2+-channel drugs, verapamil nifedipine, have only little effect. Nifedipine nethertheless effectively accumulation at pheromone sources. results interpreted as an indication for involvement pharmacologically Ca2+-channels calmodulin-antagonist, trifluoperazine, induces, low concentrations, same pheromone, mechanism action remaining unknown.
