摘要: Avicennia marina (Forsk.) Vierh. is a salt tolerant plant that grows in the saline environment along the coastline. A study was carried out at Mbweni Mangrove Forests aimed evaluating effects of different climatic seasons on the productivity, growth, survival and spread A. . litter falls were collected nine traps set randomly stands mangrove forest where occupied density 0.10 individual/m 2 Monthly were sorted into separate components, i.e. leaves, stems seeds, weighed, recorded mean weight values calculated. From litter, Sodium ions determined by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer method while Chlorine Ion Chromatography method. In leaf accumulation, highest production found September with a mean 78.53g/m For Sodium ions, concentration started to rise during dry season June September. Lowest leaf mean values April 7.23g/m concentration of lower wet and May. propagule organs, data for only three months which the accumulation value 19.3g/m During wet month April, high rates propagules with dispersal accelerated water runoff leading establishment new colonies. For duration (June August) soils had extreme salinity due to low rainfall. The inorganic sodium (Na) (Cl) started to accumulate order maintain homeostatic control, turgor pressure osmotic adjustment. Accumulation these salts resulted to high productivity as means removing excess and unwanted salts. This facilitated strong wind finally brought short rains in November also vegetation. this study, it can be concluded varying has  productivity, growth stressed environment, indicating that mangroves have characteristics. Key words : marina, litter, salinity.
