Wormhole-Resilient Secure Neighbor Discovery in Underwater Acoustic Networks

摘要: Neighbor discovery is a fundamental requirement and need be done frequently in underwater acoustic networks (UANs) with floating node mobility. In hostile environments, neighbor vulnerable to the wormhole attack by which adversary uses secret links make distant nodes falsely accept each other as neighbors. The may lead many undesirable consequences cannot solved cryptographic methods. Existing defenses for ground wireless directly applied UANs where most of their assumptions no longer hold. This paper presents suite novel protocols enable wormhole-resilient secure UANs. Our are based on Direction Arrival (DoA) estimation signals, basic functionality readily available current proposed can thwart overwhelming probability without conventional hard requirements accurate time synchronization localization. Detailed theoretical analysis simulation results confirm high performance protocols.
