摘要: Anopheles arabiensis and An. funestus were collected by pyrethrum spray sheet collections in houses human-bait catches at a village western Kenya adjacent to the Ahero rice irrigation scheme; using same methods, gambiae s.l. Miwani, sugar-cane belt. Plasmodium falciparum sporozoite rates determined ELISA. At mean 1.1% 4.3% funestus, respectively, while Miwani 6.0% funestus. Entomolgoical inoculation (EIR) derived from both (IR-HBC) proportion of human blood-fed females caught resting indoors (IR-HBF). The IR-HBF appeared be more realistic index EIR. people exposed an average 416 91 infective bites/person/year, respectively. main vectors Miwani. In view intense perennial malaria transmission Ahero, vector control insecticides should considered, where is seasonal, permethrin-impregnated bed nets could alternative indoor spraying. These measures must augmented with availability effective antimalarials.
