Using entropy for quantitative measurement of operational complexity of supplier–customer system: case studies

摘要: The paper concerns with analysis of operational complexity company supplier–customer relations. Well-known approach for measuring is based upon entropy. However, there are several approaches thereon. In the first part, we discuss various general measures uncertainty states, power entropies in particular. second use Shannon entropy as a base framework our two case studies—the first, system which implements managerial thresholds processing product delivery term deviations, second, supplier most important commodity brewery industry, malted barley. both cases, assume an existence problem-oriented databases, contain detailed records all orders, deliveries and forecasts quantity time having been scheduled realized. Our procedure elaborated consists three basic steps—pre-processing data consistency checks Java, calculation histograms empirical distribution functions, finally, evaluation conditional last steps realized by Mathematica modules. Illustrative results measurement using provided studies.
