摘要: Subterranean rodents continuously extend their burrow systems primarily in search of food, which has an important impact on the ecosystem they live. Excavated soil may be pushed either into aboveground mounds or tunnels underground. Factors affecting amount burrowing and preference underground deposition are, nevertheless, little known. We investigated influence food supply, hardness, animal’s body mass mode ten free ranging silvery mole-rats Heliophobius argenteocinereus Peters, 1846. In each system, we estimated volume backfilled deposited aboveground. The highest variation these parameters was explained by interaction supply hardness. ratio to not significantly dependent any explanatory variables. proportion decreased with increasing complete system. propose that both low soft lead increased burrowing, results a larger above ground under over given period time.
