摘要: Abstract : Experimental skin-friction and pressure-coe cient data for a generic scale-model submarine, tested in the Low-Speed Wind Tunnel at DSTO, are presented. The e ect on pressure coe cients due to di erent sizes types of boundary layer tripping devices, including case no device, was investigated Reynolds number range 3:58 106 6:27 106, where is based model length. Skin friction measured using Preston-tube method which technique applicable turbulent layers only. For laminar transition regions Preston tube only provided qualitative results. results demonstrate importance correctly provide guide determining size type device required achieve stimulated given tunnel free-stream velocity. While speci c geometry trip location, methodology other general geometries locations. This report does not address cult problem place trip.
