摘要: A small area of highly disturbed, contorted, and brecciated strata centering at Howell, in north-central Lincoln County, Tennessee, has been mapped studied detail. The salient structural feature is a circular intensely deformed Black River Trenton rocks, which have uplifted approximately 100 feet above their normal positions. This composed jumbled blocks limestone imbedded matrix shatter breccia. major deformation believed to post-Trenton pre-Fernvale age. Overlying the shattered Fern vale formation, relative thickness lithology point directly toward deposition graded crater. shale unit shows moderately high dips. partial disturbance Fernvale possibly indicates mild renewal forces caused deformation. younger Silurian Mississippian formations are relatively undisturbed. magnetic survey "closure" 335 gammas, 1 3/4 miles...
