摘要: The sensitivity of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based methods for the detection DNA offers opportunities tumor diagnosis from small amounts tumor-derived released into body fluids. Tumor-derived can be distinguished derived non-neoplastic cells by presence specific genomic alterations, such as mutations in p53 gene. This case report describes use allele-specific PCR (A-PCR) to detect a C-->T transition codon 273 extracted cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) patient whose glioblastoma contained same mutation. results this study were confirmed second independent A-PCR that detected corresponding G-->A on opposite strand. specificity protocol was demonstrated negative controls, including pooled human placental and patient's non-tumor DNA, primers all four possible bases at site methodology used is suitable diagnostic clinical test. Because about half tumors contain mutations, examination CSF mutant sequences may useful recurrent or metastatic tumors. Patients with known carcinoma breast lung might particularly benefited
