摘要: Abstract A morphological examination of the Kitt Peak photospheric magnetic maps has been made over three sunspot cycles in order to study morphology unipolar regions and sunspots. Unipolar (positive negative) are a series weak, large-scale longitudinal bands, extending from 0° 60° latitude alternatively aligned longitude. The first finding is that grow decay with cycle thus likely be part basic solar (dipolar) magnetism, not old active located below 30° (as have long considered). second positive pores single spots (coalesced pores, often called ‘isolated’ or ‘independent’ spots) occur region (vice vera). Thus, could source spots. third pair dense clusters large (a coalesced at each side boundary neighboring regions, forming pairs across boundary; fact, do middle region. boundaries tentatively identified as Hale boundary, where activities (including flares) occur). it suggested presently accepted tube theory may need new consideration.
