摘要: Despite the common assertion that some indigenous peoples were conservationists, a number of authors have claimed persuasive evidence for this is lacking. They have, apparently, overlooked such evidence. It well documented, example, centuries ago Pacific Islanders invented and employed all basic marine conservation measures Europeans began to use only in early 1900s. For islanders devised deliberate measures, they first had learn their natural resources limited. could done so by depleting them. Evidence culture overharvested or otherwise damaged its at period history no proof it was, times, non-conservationist. Some Island cultures learned limited introduced accordingly. Others never lesson because always exceeded harvesting pressure. I suggest worldwide survey relevant literature would show societies developed conscious practices usually small relied on circumscribed thus easily depleted. Today, an era shrinking resource frontiers, establishing whether ethic exists vital step determining how help people live within limits.
