摘要: Summary The interocular transfer of lateral mirror-image discriminations in the optic chaism sectioned monkey is paradoxical, negative, previously unrewarded shape being preferred when ‘untrained’ eye tested. This phenomenon has also been reported for unoperated pigeon. two preparations are similar that each projects directly to only one side brain. An explanation this attempted with reference anatomy model developed predicts veridical vertical and pairs bilaterally symmetrical shapes generally. confirmed both pigeon chiasm monkey. It further predicted, confirmed, normal monkeys, monkeys tract forebrain commissures divided will give discriminations. reversal preference mirror-images mediated via anterior commissure or splenium corpus callosum. well established difficulty learning discriminate between mirror-images, as compared binocularly trained members a number species—rat, cat, human child—is considered light paper. suggested reflects reception hemisphere antagonistic information regarding horizontal extent visual field. received geniculate nucleus conflicts from other homotopic interhemispheric connections. A test suggested.
