Reductive amination and analysis of carbohydrates using 2-picoline borane as reducing agent

摘要: The application provides the use of 2-picoline borane (2-PB) for reductive amination carbohydrates, especially glycans from blood plasma, and describes a process labelling carbohydrate, comprising contacting carbohydrate with agent, eg. 2-aminobenzoic acid, 2-aminobenzamide, APTS etc. in presence as reducing agent. Labelling this way facilitates detection using HPLC techniques, HILIC-HPLC-FL, HILIC-ESI-IT-MS, or capillary electrophoresis.
