摘要: It has only been within the last few months that organic-solvent-soluble conducting polymers have developed. Previously, solubility in a mixture of arsenic trifluoride/pentafluoride was singular path available to processability polymers. In this paper they report their success preparation two which are soluble water doped and undoped statesexclamation Sodium poly(3-thiophene-..beta..-ethanesulfonate) (P3-ETSNa) sodium poly(3-(thiophene-delta-butanesulfonate) (P3-BTSNa) respective conjugate acids soluble. The latter interest because, upon oxidation, can lose proton concomitant with electron loss produce self-doped polymers; i.e., where counterion is attached polymer via covalent bond.
