摘要: Yield losses from rice stem borers depend on the nature of variety, timing attack, and composition borer species assemblage. This study uses a range phenotyping methods to distinguish different categories herbivore-rice interaction that determine relative damage levels (dead heart whitehead-panicles) yield varieties exposed borers. Phenotyping studies were conducted in greenhouse, screen house field using two (Scirpophaga incertulas [yellow - YSB] Chilo suppressalis [striped SSB]) 12 lines. Only YSB displayed oviposition preferences across varieties. Both performed better (greater survival, shorter development times, heavier pupae) at vegetative compared reproductive growth stages, SSB was less capable than developing stages. Stem larval body weight, time, tiller greenhouse experiments poorly correlated between for each plant stages (vegetative reproductive). In contrast, tillering responses often highly correlated, but only when plants attacked stage. Short-term, controlled revealed aspects host resistance changes biomass response (condition change). However, results environments field-plots not generally because vulnerability, i.e., exposure attack due crop duration, largely determined damage. We recommend should differentiate resistance, tolerance vulnerability lines complexes given region. Single under are useful gain knowledge rice-stem interactions; however, testing with comparative treatments, particularly high soil fertilizer increase attractiveness, assessing propensities incur
