摘要: Nationwide, housing authorities demolish public communities and relocate the existing residents in an attempt to create more favorable neighborhood environments promote safer efficacious social interactions for residents. Yet, studies of relocation do not find strong evidence beneficial interaction occurring between relocated new neighbors. Despite increased safety relative increase economic standing, socialize outside their neighborhoods or else limit as compared living communities. This raises question why either choose interact with neighbors within residential settings. In effort answer this question, I have conducted a study focused on using from six Atlanta, Georgia’s As backdrop study, present relevant literature concerning both prior endeavors. argue that provide important landscapes attempting benefit residents, though research different framework analysis are needed order manifest theorized outcomes all involved. then employ use quantitative survey data 248 qualitative in-depth interview 40 further insight into patterns after Atlanta’s housing. finds differed terms ideal zones action preferred levels inclusion engagement setting surrounding community scene.
