摘要: Typical approaches to defining regions, districts or neighborhoods within a city often focus on place instances of similar type that are grouped together. For example, most cities have at least one bar district defined as such by the clustering bars few blocks. In reality, it is not presence spatial locations labeled contribute region, but rather popularity themselves. Following principle places, and extension, place-type regions exist via people given space meaning, we explore user-contributed content way extracting this meaning. Kernel density estimation models place-based social check-ins compared spatially tagged posts with goal identifying thematic Los Angeles, CA. Dynamic human activity patterns, represented temporal signatures, included in analysis demonstrate how change over time.
