It shows this method assessment can reduce, quite dramatically, hours spent by staff on setting and marking examination papers. can also provide cost gains to institution by improving retention rate and allowing students join without having gained usual prerequisite qualifications. allows from diverse backgrounds complete at their own pace. By setting more short assessments are topic related, cannot miss out difficult topics have gain pass in them all. A survey students found majority preferred assessment to traditional exams.
