摘要: Exotic plant management often begins only after introduced taxa become widespread and problematic. Control efforts at this stage have a higher potential to lead unintended outcomes in native systems. We explored the impacts of ongoing invasive on ectotherm, copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix), landscape heavily impacted by multiple nonnative species. found that habitats undergoing control are preferred snakes over other available habitats, but these individuals greater risk injury mortality owing policy-driven methods control. At same time, we show can reverse invader impacts, notably reclaiming thermoregulatory opportunities for ectotherms, thus offering benefits as well challenges such animals. This introduces key dilemma conservation reclaim critical resources while undermine success efforts. outline several simple direct solutions may easily be incorporated into plans.
