Diffusion kinetics of Bi and Pb–Bi monolayer precursing films on Cu(1 1 1)

摘要: Abstract We have used Auger electron spectroscopy to study the diffusive spreading and adsorption of pure Bi Pb–11 at.%Bi precursing films on Cu(1 1 1) surfaces, from droplets respective materials. The diffusion coefficient ( D ) increases with Bi-coverage. However, in intermediate coverage range, remains approximately constant, which is presumably due formation an ordered hexagonal overlayer. In case Pb–Bi alloy spreading, presence slows down Pb kinetics significantly. are also slower Pb, but effect less marked. equilibrium concentrations both at drop surface, surrounding film, were found be Bi-enriched.
