摘要: Twenty strains of filamentous fungi were tested for their ability to grow on a liquid medium containing caffeine (1,3,7-trimethylxanthine) as sole nitrogen source. Seven which able belong the Aspergillus and Penicillium genuses. They all presented same degradation pathways but varied in efficiency by took place. Caffeine was first demethylated position 7; this lead formation theophylline (1,3-dimethylxanthine). This compound next 1 give 3-methylxanthine. All these also theophylline, theobromine (3,7-dimethylxanthine), paraxanthine (1,7-dimethylxanthine) intermediates detected methylxanthines.
