摘要: Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) of the B-cell type are second most common neoplasm among patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and AIDS. Here, we evaluated 48 cases AIDS-related (ARL) diagnosed at Histopathological Division Instituto de Investigaciones Hematologicas National Academy Medicine. Five were females 43 males a median age 37 years time diagnosis. Micrometer sections prepared stained hematoxilin-eosin; immunohistochemical examination for presence Epstein-Barr (EBV) was carried out in 48/48 cases. Additionally, biotinilated oligonucleotides used to determine DNA Human Herpes type-8 (HHV-8) 14/14 biopsy smears corresponding plasmablastic (PL). All fenotype B cell an aggressive course advanced disease Virological findings showed strong association between EBV NHL. According histopathological subtype, genome detected 16/21 (76%) diffuse large lymphomas, 1/3 Burkitt lymphoma 3/4 (75%) primary central nervous system lymphomas. Globally, 20/28 NHL this series. Detection HHV-8 negative all PL. Hodgkin more frequent 18/20 (90%), clinical significant predominance subtypes associated worse prognosis (90% cases). We HL consider that AIDS related should be assessed because its may play role prognosis.
